CAPTEK™
Crowns and bridges that mimic and surpass natural teeth in esthetic and function - CAPTEK by Albert Tassi Dental Lab.

Captek’s structural basis is a strong, shock absorbing and biocompatible internal structure for a crown or bridge.  A unique advanced nano technology of gold composites provides the desired color background as well as a complex mechanism that protects natural teeth and implants, and not less importantly - the porcelain.   The gold composite is a highly biocompatible material with no base metal and oxides, that protects the gingiva from harmful bacteria.  Captek is biocompatible and corrosion resistant due to its composition of 84.5 percent gold and 9 percent platinum group metals. Captek’s capillary attraction technology produces extremely dense and exceptionally strong porcelain understructures that exceed the resistance to fracture of conventionally cast metals.

Prep Requirements
The ideal preparation for PFMs is a chamfer margin preparation. If a porcelain labial margin is prescribed, then a shoulder margin preparation of 1.25 mm is required. For anterior: 2.0mm incisal reduction, 1.5mm middle third reduction, ensuring preparation is cut into three planes and that labial and lingual walls are convergent. For posterior: 2.0mm occlusal reduction; 1.5mm middle third reduction; 1.25 mm gingival reduction on the buccal; buccal and lingual walls must be convergent. Feather-edge margin preps are indicated for full-cast restorations.

Recomended Cementation
Any type of cement can be used with Captek. Dentists are advised to regard the Captek crown as any ceramo-metal crown.

Material Content

Captek™ alloys are composed of 2 major components. The first component is a platinum and palladium mix that, when heated, forms a microscopic three-dimensional network of capillaries. The second component is 97.5% gold and 2/5% silver and, when melted, flows to fill these capillaries.
